Welcome to the Leatherstocking Sheep Dog Trials!August 14, 15, 16, 2015
A moment to reflect: The Leatherstocking Sheepdog Trial committee would like to extend our
deepest sympathy to the Means family. Chalmers was one of the trials
founding "fathers" almost 20 years ago, finding and securing the Clark field
that we use, among many other things. He will truly be missed by all.
The Leatherstocking Sheepdog Trial is sanctioned by both the North East Border Collie Association (NEBCA) and the United States Border Collie Handler's Association, Inc. (USBCHA).
The Sheepdog Trial is a competitive dog sport in which a dog moves sheep around a field, through gates, and into enclosures as directed by their handler.
The workmanship between dog and handler, and the ever unpredictable sheep, make for a fascinating sport to watch.
The 2015 20th Annual Leatherstocking Sheepdog Trial
held on the Robert F. Clark field off Beaver Meadow Road.
Starts time is around 8:00 AM and goes until the last dog runs (usually around 5:00 PM)
